The Daily Beck! Feb 4/4 (Very Interesting!)

Be sure to watch all of the videos. There is a lot of good information on what things are currently happening with our economy and where things are headed domestic and foreign.

A good tip is to break the video series down into two separate days. You don't have to agree with everything that is said but without a doubt I think you'll agree these video series are very educational.  Where else can you get a blend of economics, politics, and history blended with direction, insight, and humor?

Healthcare - Why they won't let it go?

Up to 1,200 needless deaths, patients abused, staff bullied to meet targets... yet a secret inquiry into failing hospital says no one's to blame

The administration is making another attempt to implement a Government run Health care Plan for all Americans. Have you wondered why Democratic members of congress continue this suicidal mission in spite of its overwhelming rejection by the American people? The strongest supporters of the DNC are unions and these same unions are owed big favors from the current administration.

Unions have taken over the health care plans for their members and reports indicate that the majority of these union controlled plans have had their funds decimated by graft, financial incompetence and fraud. How can the abuses be hidden forever and how can those who are responsible get a "get out of jail free card"? Simple, a government bailout of course. A government run national health care plan will transfer the responsibility of providing health care for union members from the bankrupt unions themselves to the taxpayers. Problem solved.

The proponents often cite the UK system as the the ideal government run health care system. As the new debate gets underway perhaps we ought to keep in mind how well is it really working out for UK citizens. Below is the results from one of the UK's most 'elite' NHS institutions.

Up to 1,200 needless deaths, patients abused, staff bullied to meet targets... yet a secret inquiry into failing hospital says no one's to blame
  • Up to 1,200 patients died unnecessarily because of appalling care
  • Labour's obsession with targets and box ticking blamed for scandal
  • Patients were 'routinely neglected' at hospital
  • Report calls for FOURTH investigation into scandal
  • Not a single official has been disciplined over the worst-ever NHS hospital scandal, it emerged last night. up to 1,200 people lost their lives needlessly because Mid-Staffordshire NHS Trust put government targets and cost-cutting ahead of patient care. But none of the doctors, nurses and managers who failed them has suffered any formal sanction. Indeed, some have either retired on lucrative pensions or have swiftly found new jobs.
Former chief executive Martin Yeates, who has since left with a £1million ($1,520,000.00) pension pot, six months' salary and a reported £400,000 ($608,000.00) payoff, did not even give evidence to the inquiry which detailed the scale of the scandal yesterday. He was said to be medically unfit to do so, though he sent some information to chairman Robert Francis through his solicitor. But after a probe that was controversially held in secret, not a single individual has been publicly blamed. The inquiry found that:

• Patients were left unwashed in their own filth for up to a month as nurses ignored their requests
to use the toilet or change their sheets;
• Four members of one family. including a new-born baby girl. died within 18 months after blunders
at the hospital;
• Medics discharged patients hastily out of fear they risked being sacked;
• Wards were left filthy with blood, discarded needles and used dressings while bullying managers made whistleblowers too frightened to come forward.

The Francis report said staff numbers were allowed to fall 'dangerously low', causing nurses to neglect the most basic care. It said: 'Requests for assistance to use a bedpan or to get to and from the toilet were not responded to. 'Some families were left to take soiled sheets home to wash or to change beds when this should have been undertaken by the hospital and its staff.' Food and drink were left out of reach, forcing patients to drink water from flower vases.

How Come There Aren't More People In The U.S. That Are As Smart As The Canadians? (Or Russians)

Barack Hussein Obama: I Told You So
By Howard Galganov
Montreal, Quebec, Canada

When Obama won the presidency with the help of the leftist media, Hollywood and entertainment liberals, ethnic socialists (ACORN), stupid non-business professionals and Bush haters, I wrote: It won't take six months until the people figure this guy out and realize how horrible a mistake they've made. And when they come to that realization, the damage to the United States of America will be so great it will take a generation or more to repair - IF EVER.

The IDIOTS who not only voted for the messiah, but also worked hard to promote his lordship, are now left holding the bag.

Here are two things they will NEVER do: they will NEVER admit to making a blunder out of all proportion by electing a snake-oil salesman with no positive social history or management experience of any kind. They will NEVER take responsibility for the curse they've imposed upon the immediate and long-term future of their country.

In essence, the people responsible for putting this horror show in power are themselves responsible for every cataclysmic decision he makes and the consequences thereof.

In just six months, the messiah's polls are showing the following: on Healthcare Reform, he's going under for the third time with polling well under 50 percent, even within his own party. Even though he might be able to muscle a Healthcare Reform Bill by using Chicago bully tactics against his fellow Democrats, it will just make things worse. On Cap and Trade (Cap and Tax), the fat lady is already singing. On the Stimulus Package (Tax and Spend), his popularity is in free fall. On the TARP package he took and ran with from President Bush, it's all but Good-Night Irene. On the closing of GITMO and "his" war on what he no longer wants called the War On Terrorism, he's standing in quicksand with his head just about to go under.

It seems to me that Obama wants to be everywhere he shouldn't be. He's personally invested in totally insulting America's only real Middle Eastern ally (Israel) in favor of Palestinian despots and murderers. He's traveling the world apologizing for the USA while lecturing others on how to do it right, when in fact and truth he has no experience at doing anything other than getting elected.

He went to the Muslim world in Egypt to declare that America "is not a Christian nation" while he heaped praises on Islam, where he compared the "plight" of the Palestinians to the Holocaust.

The Russians think he's a putz. The French think he's rude. The Germans want him to stop spending. The Indians want him to get his nose out of their environmental business. The North Koreans think he's a joke. The Iranians won't acknowledge his calls. And the British can't even come up with a comprehensive opinion of him. As for the Chinese, he's too frightened to even glance their way. (After all, China now owns a large portion of the United States .)

Maybe if America's first emperor would stay home more, travel less, and work a little bit instead of being on television just about everyday (or forget about his Wednesday date nights with his amazon wife) or stop running to "papered" Town Hall Meetings, perhaps he would have a little bit of time to do the work of the nation.

In all fairness, it wasn't hard to be right in my prediction concerning Obama's presidency, even in its first six months, so I'm going to make yet another prediction:
OBAMA WILL PROBABLY NOT FINISH HIS 4-YEAR TERM, at least not in a conventional way.

He is such a political horror show, and so detrimental to the USA and his own Democratic Party, that the Democrats themselves will either force him to resign or figure out a way to have him thrown out.  Who knows, maybe he really isn't a born US Citizen and that's a way the Democrats will be able to get rid of him.

I don't believe the Democrats have nearly as much love for their country as they do for their own political fortunes. And with Obama, their fortunes are rapidly becoming toast.

The Democrats can keep on blaming Bush for everything, but that game's already begun to wear real thin. Their mantra was "WE DON'T WANT 4 MORE YEARS," which the STUPID people bought. The new mantra will soon become:   "WE DON'T WANT 6 MORE MONTHS. "Please tell me, how is it that the majority of the Canadian population understands what's going on in the United States however, the majority of the American public and the socialistic idiots in Washington DC have no idea of what's happening to their country, or they're too stupid to care.

Bosom bombers: Women have explosive breast implants

Authorities alarmed by possibility of surgically placed explosives

LONDON – Agents for Britain's MI5 intelligence service have discovered that Muslim doctors trained at some of Britain's leading teaching hospitals have returned to their own countries to fit surgical implants filled with explosives...
Women suicide bombers recruited by al-Qaida are known to have had the explosives inserted in their breasts under techniques similar to breast enhancing surgery. The lethal explosives – usually PETN (pentaerythritol Tetrabitrate) – are inserted during the operation inside the plastic shapes. The breast is then sewn up...
"Properly inserted the implant would be virtually impossible to detect by the usual airport Scanning machines...

Anatomy of a Failed Presidency!

The following is an interesting article.  I wonder how long Dr. Hunt can remain at NIH once the powers that be get wind of this article.  Dr. Hunt is a social and cultural anthropologist.  He has had nearly 30 years experience in planning, conducting, and managing research in the field of youth studies, and drug and alcohol research. Currently Dr. Hunt is a Senior Research Scientist at the Institute for Scientific Analysis and the Principal Investigator on three National Institutes on Health projects. He is also a writer for American Thinker.

Another Failed Presidency

An article from American Thinker by Geoffrey P. Hunt

Barack Obama is on track to have the most spectacularly failed presidency since Woodrow Wilson.  In the modern era, we've seen several failed presidencies--led by Jimmy Carter and LBJ.  Failed presidents have one strong common trait-- they are repudiated, in the vernacular, spat out. Of course, LBJ wisely took the exit ramp early, avoiding a shove into oncoming traffic by his own party.  Richard Nixon indeed resigned in disgrace, yet his reputation as a statesman has been partially restored by his triumphant overture to China .

But, Barack Obama is failing.  Failing big.  Failing fast. And failing everywhere: foreign policy, domestic initiatives, and most importantly, in forging connections with the American people. The incomparable Dorothy  Rabinowitz in the Wall Street Journal put her finger on it: He is failing because he has no understanding of the American people, and may indeed loathe them. Fred Barnes of the Weekly Standard says he is failing because he has lost control of his message, and is overexposed.  Clarice Feldman of American Thinker produced a dispositive commentary showing that Obama is failing because fundamentally he is neither smart nor articulate; his intellectual dishonesty is conspicuous by its audacity and lack of shame.

But, there is something more seriously wrong: How could a new president riding in on a wave of precedented promise and goodwill have forfeited his tenure and become a lame duck in six months?  His poll ratings are in free fall.  In generic balloting, the Republicans have now seized a five point advantage.  This truly is unbelievable.  What's going on?

No narrative. Obama doesn't have a narrative.  No, not a narrative about himself.  He has a self-narrative, much of it fabricated, cleverly disguised or written by someone else.  But this self-narrative is isolated and doesn't connect with us.  He doesn't have an American narrative that draws upon the rest of us.  All successful presidents have a narrative about the American character that intersects with their own where they display a command of history and reveal an authenticity at the core of their personality that resonates in a positive endearing way with the majority of Americans. We admire those presidents whose narratives not only touch our own, but who seem stronger, wiser, and smarter than we are.  Presidents we admire are aspirational peers, even those whose politics don't align exactly with our own: Teddy Roosevelt, FDR, Harry Truman, Ike, and Reagan.

But not this president. It's not so much that he's a phony, knows nothing about economics, and is historically illiterate and woefully small minded for the size of the task--all contributory of course.  It's that he's not one of us..  And whatever he is, his profile is fuzzy and devoid of content, like a cardboard cutout made from delaminated corrugated paper.

Moreover, he doesn't command our respect and is unable to appeal to our own common sense. His notions of right and wrong are repugnant and how things work just don't add up. They are not existential. His descriptions of the world we live in don't make sense and don't correspond with our experience.

In the meantime, while we've been struggling to take a measurement of this man, he's dissed just about every one of us--financiers, energy producers, banks, insurance executives, police officers, doctors, nurses, hospital administrators, post office workers, and anybody else who has a non-green job.  Expect Obama to lament at his last press conference in 2012:
"For those of you I offended, I apologize..  For those of you who were not offended, you just didn't give me enough time; if only I'd had a second term, I could have offended you too."

Mercifully, the Founders at the Constitutional Convention in 1787 devised a useful remedy for such a desperate state--staggered terms for both houses of the legislature and the executive.  An equally abominable Congress can get voted out next year.  With a new Congress, there's always hope of legislative gridlock until we vote for president again two short years after that.

Yes, small presidents do fail, Barack Obama among them.  The coyotes howl but the wagon train keeps rolling along.

GOD vs. Science

'Let me explain the problem science has with religion.'

The atheist professor of philosophy pauses before his class and then asks one of his new students to stand.

'You're a Christian, aren't you, son?'

'Yes sir,' the student says.

'So you believe in God?'

'Absolutely. '

'Is God good?'

'Sure!  God's good.'

'Is God all-powerful?  Can God do anything?'

'Yes'

'Are you good or evil?'

'The Bible says I'm evil.'

The professor grins knowingly.   'Aha!  The Bible!  He considers for a moment.  'Here's one for you.  Let's say there's a sick person over here and you can cure him.  You can do it.  Would you help him?  Would you try?'

'Yes sir, I would.'

'So you're good!'

'I wouldn't say that.'

'But why not say that?  You'd help a sick and maimed person if you could.  Most of us would if we could.  But God doesn't.'

The student does not answer, so the professor continues.  'He doesn't, does he?  My brother was a Christian who died of cancer, even though he prayed to Jesus to heal him.  How is this Jesus good?  Can you answer that one?'

The student remains silent.   'No, you can't, can you?', the professor says.  He takes a sip of water from a glass on his desk to give the student time to relax.  'Let's start again, young fella.  Is God good?'

'Er..yes,' the student says.

'Is Satan good?'

The student doesn't hesitate on this one.  'No.'

'Then where does Satan come from?'

The student falters.  'From God'

'That's right.  God made Satan, didn't he?  Tell me, son.  Is there evil in this world?'

'Yes, sir..'

'Evil's everywhere, isn't it?  And God did make everything, correct?'

'Yes'

'So who created evil?'  The professor continued, 'If God created everything, then God created evil, since evil exists, and according to the principle that our works define who we are, then God is evil.'

Again, the student has no answer.   'Is there sickness?  Immorality?  Hatred?  Ugliness?  All these terrible things, do they exist in this world?'

The student squirms on his feet. 'Yes.'

'So who created them?'

The student does not answer again, so the professor repeats his question.  'Who created them?'  There is still no answer.  Suddenly the lecturer breaks away to pace in front of the classroom.  The class is mesmerized.  'Tell me,' he continues onto another student.  'Do you believe in Jesus Christ, son?'

The student's voice betrays him and cracks.  'Yes, professor, I do.'

The old man stops pacing.  'Science says you have fivesenses you use to identify and observe the world around you.  Have you ever seen Jesus?'

'No sir.  I've never seen Him.'

'Then tell us if you've ever heard your Jesus?'

'No, sir, I have not..'

'Have you ever felt your Jesus, tasted your Jesus or smelt your Jesus?  Have you ever had any sensory perception of Jesus Christ, or God for that matter?'

'No, sir, I'm afraid I haven't.'

'Yet you still believe in him?'

'Yes'

'According to the rules of empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your God doesn't exist.  What do you say to that, son?'

'Nothing,' the student replies.. 'I only have my faith.'

'Yes, faith,' the professor repeats.  'And that is the problem science has with God.  There is no evidence, only faith.'

The student stands quietly for a moment, before asking a question of His own.  'Professor, is there such thing as heat? '

Yes.

'And is there such a thing as cold?'

'Yes, son, there's cold too.'

'No sir, there isn't.'

The professor turns to face the student, obviously interested.  The room suddenly becomes very quiet.  The student begins to explain.'  You can have lots of heat, even more heat, super-heat, mega-heat, unlimited heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat, but we don't have anything called 'cold'.  We can get down to 458 degrees below zero, which is no heat, but we can't go any further after that.  There is no such thing as cold; otherwise we would be able to go colder than the lowest -458 degrees.  Every body or object is susceptible to study when it has or transmits energy, and heat is what makes a body or matter have or transmit energy.  Absolute zero (-458 F) is the total absence of heat.  You see, sir, cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat.  We cannot measure cold.  Heat we can measure in thermal units because heat is energy.  Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it.'

Silence across the room.  A pen drops somewhere in the classroom, sounding like a hammer.

'What about darkness, professor.  Is there such a thing as darkness?'

'Yes,' the professor replies without hesitation.  'What is night if it isn't darkness?'

'You're wrong again, sir.  Darkness is not something; it is the absence of something.  You can have low light, normal light, bright light, flashing light, but if you have no light constantly you have nothing and it's called darkness, isn't it?  That's the meaning we use to define the word.  In reality, darkness isn't.  If it were, you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn't you?'

The professor begins to smile at the student in front of him.  This will be a good semester.  'So what point are you making, young man?'

'Yes, professor.  My point is, your philosophical premise is flawed to start with, and so your conclusion must also be flawed.'

The professor's face cannot hide his surprise this time.  'Flawed?  Can you explain how?'

'You are working on the premise of duality,' the student explains.  'You argue that there is life and then there's death; a good God and a bad God.  You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure.  Sir, science can't even explain a thought.'  'It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.  To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing.  Death is not the opposite of life, just the absence of it.'  'Now tell me, professor.  Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?'

'If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, young man, yes, of course I do.'

'Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?'

The professor begins to shake his head, still smiling, as he realizes where the argument is going.  A very good semester, indeed.

'Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir?  Are you now not a scientist, but a preacher?'

The class is in uproar.  The student remains silent until the commotion has subsided.  'To continue the point you were making earlier to the other student, let me give you an example of what I mean.'  The student looks around the room.  'Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the professor's brain?'  The class breaks out into laughter.  'Is there anyone here who has ever heard the professor's brain, felt the professor's brain, touched or smelt the professor's brain?  No one appears to have done so.  So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, with all due respect, sir.'  'So if science says you have no brain, how can we trust your lectures, sir?'

Now the room is silent.  The professor just stares at the student, his face unreadable.  Finally, after what seems an eternity, the old man answers.  'I Guess you'll have to take them on faith.'

'Now, you accept that there is faith, and, in fact, faith exists with life,' the student continues.  'Now, sir, is there such a thing as evil?'  Now uncertain, the professor responds, 'Of course, there is.  We see it everyday.  It is in the daily example of man's inhumanity to man.  It is in the multitude of crime and violence everywhere in the world.  These manifestations are nothing else but evil.'

To this the student replied, 'Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist unto itself.  Evil is simply the absence of God.  It is just like darkness and cold, a word that man has created to describe the absence of God.  God did not create evil.  Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have God's love present in his heart.  It's like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.'

The professor sat down.

If you read it all the way through and had a smile on your face when you finished, mail to your friends and family with the title 'God vs. Science'

PS:  the student was Albert Einstein

Albert Einstein wrote a book titled GOD vs. Science in 1921.

U. S. Oil Discovery - Largest Reserve in the World!

By the way...this is all true.

GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will blow your mind.http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911

I was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes brothers was the guest. This is the actual question as asked. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer; how much oil does the
U.S. have in the ground." Forbes did not miss a beat, he said, "more than all the  Middle East  put together." Please read below.
The U. S. Geological Service issued a report in April ('08) that only scientists and oil men knew was coming, but man was it big.  It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota, western South Dakota, and extreme eastern Montana ... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since  Alaska 's  Prudhoe Bay , and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

'When I first briefed legislators on this, you could practically see their jaws hit the floor. They had no idea.' says Terry Johnson, the  Montana  Legislature's financial analyst.

'This sizable find is now the highest-producing onshore oil field found in the past 56 years' reports, The  Pittsburgh  Post Gazette.  It's a formation known as the  Williston   Basin , but is more commonly referred to as the 'Bakken.' And it stretches fromNorthern Montana , through  North Dakota  and into  Canada . For years,  U. S.  oil exploration has been considered a dead end.  Even the 'Big Oil' companies gave up searching for major oil wells decades ago. However, a recent technological breakthrough has opened up the Bakken's massive reserves..... and we now have access of up to 500 billion barrels. And because this is light, sweet oil, those billions of barrels will cost Americans just $16 PER BARREL!

That's enough crude to fully fuel the American economy for 2041 years straight.

2. And if THAT didn't throw you on the floor, then this next one should - because it's from TWO YEARS AGO!

U. S. Oil Discovery- Largest Reserve in the World!
  Stansberry Report Online - 4/20/2006

Hidden 1,000 feet beneath the surface of the  Rocky Mountains  lies the largest untapped oil reserve in the world. It is more than 2 TRILLION barrels. On August 8, 2005 President Bush mandated its extraction. In three and a half years of high oil prices none has been extracted. With this motherload of oil why are we still fighting over off-shore drilling?

They reported this stunning news: We have more oil inside our borders, than all the other proven reserves on earth. Here are the official estimates:

8-times as much oil as  Saudi Arabia
- 18-times as much oil as  Iraq
- 21-times as much oil as  Kuwait
- 22-times as much oil as  Iran
- 500-times as much oil as  Yemen
- and it's all right here in the  Western United States  ..

HOW can this BE? HOW can we NOT BE extracting this? Because the environmentalists and others have blocked all efforts to help Americabecome independent of foreign oil! Again, we are letting a small group of people dictate our lives and our economy.....WHY?

James Bartis, lead researcher with the study says we've got more oil in this very compact area than the entire Middle East -more than 2 TRILLION barrels untapped.  That's more than all the proven oil reserves of crude oil in the world today, reports The  Denver  Post.

Don't think 'OPEC' will drop its price - even with this find?  Think again! It's all about the competitive marketplace, - it has to. Think OPEC just might be funding the environmentalists?

Got your attention/ire up yet?  Hope so! Now, while you're thinking about it .... and hopefully P.O'd, do this:

3. Pass this along. If you don't take a little time to do this, then you should stifle yourself the next time you want to complain about gas prices --- because by doing NOTHING, you've forfeited your right to complain.

--------
Now I just wonder what would happen in this country if every one of you sent this to every one in your address book.

By the way...this is all true.
